I was trying to come up with an idea to spice up the door going down to my basement. My husband is a carpenter so you would think this would get done easily.....not so fast!!! Lol .Ever hear of the shoemakers kids? Lol Well I finally decided on the look ,it was go time!!!!!! After all was said and done, I loved the outcome....thanks Hubby....YOU ROCK,!!!!!!!!
This is the standard type door I started with...pretty boring hugh?
This is the finished product!!! I love the way it opens up the space...makes hallway look bigger!!!!
Of course this led to a new light fixture... because now you can see down the steps....
And I needed something pretty to look at through the door....so I dug up some vintage China and presto!!!
Of course it must have a wreath!!!!Just happened to have a lemon leaf wreath that was perfect!!!!
I love the way it came out! I painted it a pretty light green.....was just the look I was going for. Till next time Stay Peaceful.....Debbie
It looks awesome! I love the color and the wreath. The fact that you can see the plates peeking through on the wall behind the door is the perfect finishing touch!

Thanks so much for sharing your door makeover on Simple & Sweet Fridays. I did the same thing to my husband's office door. I think it opens the area up so much and makes the hallway so much more inviting. I love how your door turned out too! New Follower.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for coming by and commenting on my booth series! It took me a bit to find you as the link on the comment went to your google plus page and there is no link to your blog. I am wondering if you could put a link there on that page- it may help others get to your nice blog.

I'm Sssooooo jealous about your door! It looks great....and I have a spot in my home where one USED to be but the prev owners took it out and the door is gone. I have been wanting to find one that fits to replace it but have yet to find one. Yours looks GREAT!

Your door look amazing... I love it!
ReplyDeleteWow. Nice job! It definitely spiced up the design in that part of your house. :) Just a reminder though, always keep the glass of your door clean. As much as possible, allocate time to wipe the glass squares, so that you wouldn’t have to remove hard dirt in the future.

Beautiful! Your new door is definitely way cooler than it was previously. I haven’t seen your whole house yet, but I can tell that the door improved your house’s overall appearance. New doors always have the capability of making your house look brand new, right?

This is a standout! Your door went from ‘drab’ to ‘marvelous.’ Nice! This might not be the front door, but I think it deserves a good treatment, right? This creates an impression for the hallway, after all. The element of surprise is eliminated, but it is replaced with a welcoming feeling. :D
