Door Makeover!!!!

I was trying to come up with an idea to spice up the door going down to my basement.My husband is a carpenter so you would think this would get done easily.....not so fast!!! Lol .Ever hear of the shoemakers kids? Lol Well I finally decided on the look ,it was go time!!!!!! After all was said and done, I loved the outcome....thanks Hubby....YOU ROCK,!!!!!!!!

This is the standard type door I started with...pretty boring hugh?

This is the finished product!!! I love the way it opens up the space...makes hallway look bigger!!!!

Of course this led to a new light fixture... because now you can see down the steps....

And I needed something pretty to look at through the door....so I dug up some vintage China and presto!!!

Of course it must have a wreath!!!!Just happened to have a lemon leaf wreath that was perfect!!!!

I love the way it came out! I painted it a pretty light green.....was just the look I was going for. Till next time Stay Peaceful.....Debbie

Christmas In October?

 

Ok...I know it is only October, but since my Pinterest frenzy I have come across many Christmas pics!!!! I typed in Cottage Christmas and I thought my head would explode!!!! I got that twinge of excitement even though Christmas is a ways away...so of course, my wheels start turning!!! I lay in bed thinking of my Christmas mantel....mmmm m m........lol. The Little Chair That Could...Shabby Chic Makeover

Hi all.....thanks to my new followers and my three linky party guests!!!!Lol Rome was not built in a day!!!!Anyhoo I wanted to share with you my chair makeover.I purchased this chair for my living room...it was small and it fit the bill.The print was brown flowers that I did not care for...but I needed a chair for a small spot...not so easy to find!!! So what's an addict to do.....yep a new cover!!!Now I know it seems silly to cover a brand new chair but decorater addicts have no shame...am I right?lol So I hired a wonderful women to make a cover for my chair. I picked out the material and the cover was made.I spent hours going through magazines to get the right look..But I think I did!!!! Then of course, just the right pillows!!!! I love it!!!!!
